Yeoh Seang Aun Prizes
(in Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases)

The Yeoh Seang Aun Prizes (in Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases) is established by Dr Yeoh Seang Aun’s family members and friends in 2013. The Prizes are for award to one medical undergraduate student and one medical graduate student annually. The value of each annual award is S$1,000. The Graduate Prize will be awarded to the best medically qualified (MBBS or equivalent) PhD student in the first instance, in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, with the most outstanding research work done in tuberculosis and/or infectious diseases. If there is no suitable awardee who is medically qualified, the application for the award will be open to the rest of the PhD students in the School.

The award is governed by the following conditions:
   1. Subject to rule 3 below, the Graduate Prize will be awarded to the medically qualified (MBBS or equivalent) PhD student in the School with the most outstanding research        done in tuberculosis and/or infectious diseases who fulfilled the following criteria:
     a. Possess an MBBS or equivalent degree qualification
     b. Research in tuberculosis and/or infectious diseases
     c. Presented an abstract in a conference (local or overseas) and/or
     d. Published a paper in a journal on tuberculosis or infectious diseases
   2. The prize will be awarded by the School on the recommendation of a School appointed Selection Committee and the approval by the Dean.
   3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
