$25 million gift from the Yong Loo Lin Trust to boost research for cancer

The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine recently received a S$25 million gift from the Yong Loo Lin Trust to work with the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) to develop new models of cancer care through research and education. This is on top of the Trust's S$100 million gift to the School of Medicine in 2005 for research and scholarship in various diseases, including cancer.

Ong Hin Tiang Scholarship in Cancer Research

The Ong Hin Tiang and Ong Sek Pek Foundation provides financial assistance for education, funding of medicine and cost of treatment for needy patients with chronic and/or terminal illnesses, as well as alleviating poverty and granting of aid to the poor and needy. In 2013, the Ong Hin Tiang and Ong Sek Pek Foundation donated a gift to the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine to award a research scholarship to a Malaysian candidate doing PhD studies in Cancer Research.
